"My start into belly dance is perhaps not as glamorous as others, but I
tend to have a backwards way of doing things. In the Summer of 2005, I
woke up one day and felt as though there was a whole world filled with
things I didn't know how to do. My first challenge would be a
form of dance! Tap dance that is. Well, things didn't go so well; it
just wasn't me. Not wanting to give up learning something new, I
decided on belly dance and I'm so very glad I did. I took
classes from Khafif, and I was totally in love with this new discovery.
I couldn't learn enough. I jumped at every class and
opportunity to learn from these talented folks. I was excited to be
invited to dance with them at Twelfth Night in January 2007. In January
2008, I was invited to come and study one on one with the troupe and
appeared with them on stage at the Sharon Kihara Gala Show. In July
I was honored by being welcomed to the troupe. I look up to every
member in Khafif and am so thankful for getting to dance beside them.
