"My start into belly dance is perhaps not as glamorous as others, but I tend to have a backwards way of doing things. In the Summer of 2005, I woke up one day and felt as though there was a whole world filled with things I didn't know how to do. My first challenge would be a form of dance! Tap dance that is. Well, things didn't go so well; it just wasn't me. Not wanting to give up learning something new, I decided on belly dance and I'm so very glad I did. I took classes from Khafif, and I was totally in love with this new discovery. I couldn't learn enough. I jumped at every class and opportunity to learn from these talented folks. I was excited to be invited to dance with them at Twelfth Night in January 2007. In January 2008, I was invited to come and study one on one with the troupe and appeared with them on stage at the Sharon Kihara Gala Show. In July I was honored by being welcomed to the troupe. I look up to every member in Khafif and am so thankful for getting to dance beside them. Thank you all for always making me smile and always inspiring me to dance."
